HOW TO DRAW A NOSE FORM DIFFERENT ANGLES

 Hello everyone

Welcome again in Prayag_Arttricks, which is a place for art lovers. We have seen the basics of pencil portrait in previous article. If you haven’t seen that article yet, I will suggest you to see that once.
Lets move towards the main point which will be covered in this article which is how to draw a nose. Whenever you are drawing a portrait the nose is neither in same direction nor in same structure causing it hard to draw at that point. But don’t worry, you will be able to draw nose from any direction after seeing the technique which is very easy.
So what do we require ? Any special tool?
Absolutely not!! We just want a lighter pencil and a darker pencil. I will prefer 4B, 6B and 8B pencil for better use. And a blending stump and obviously an eraser. Now, we are good to go….

1. FRONT ANGLE :

Actually this is very easy to draw. You have to make a circle and another two circles intersecting the middle circle. But keep in mind that the middle circle must be comparatively bigger that the other two circles.

Now, draw two lines from where the two circles intersects the middle circle as shown in above picture.
Its time to draw the nostrils. Keep in mind that nostril area is the area inside the two smaller circles we have made and it continues to the outline of tip of the nose. That’s it, now make it darker.
And finally draw outline of nose that will start from area of nostril which we have made darker. Now add shading in it and blend it fine with blending stump for making it more realistic. The depth and highlights you add in your drawing makes the drawing more realistic and pleasant to see.

2. FROM SIDE :

While drawing nose from side angles, it become easier than drawing it from front angle.
How? Lets see…
Here you have to draw a horizontal line which will work as a base line of nose. Then one vertical line perpendicular to the base line and one extra line which will complete the TRIANGLE. This will act as a reference triangle for our drawing. You will get it easily by following picture.

Now draw tip of the nose and the outline which will be visible from a side angle.
Note that the outline of the nose which is straight line is never straight, is slightly curved from some points.
And the further process will be as in the pictures below.

3. FROM EXTREME ANGLES:

Here is the exciting work now!!
Drawing a nose from extreme angles is a lot much difficult job rather than drawing nose from front or side angles.
Why? Because if you imagine the outline of the nose from extreme angles (i.e. pointing upward or downward form either side) it wont look like a nose. Here all depends upon the nostrils position and the depth and light areas you will give to that.
So it makes it hard to draw the nose from such angles.
In this case, the triangle remains in the frame but it is little bit different from that triangle which we used in the side angles.so let’s see, how to draw it.
First make a base line as we have drawn in side angles. Then vertical line too.
Here the difference is, when you are up to make the triangle you have to make that as in the following picture.

That’s it. You have drawn the nose.

Lets draw it as pointing upward and slightly angled at front.
If you got the idea about the triangle then it will be much more easy to draw. Just keep in mind that triangle.
This will not need that much explanation as you can easily understand it by observing the below images.
First make the required triangle as seen before.

That’s it for this article guyzz..
Remember that as much as you practice, the better you will be. So, keep practicing.
You can now draw a nose from any angle.
I have made a video on the same topic on my YouTube channel ‘Prayag_Arttricks’
